30 Days Wild:Day 25 - Gannet Heaven

Out early today to make sure I got an hour or two with one of my favourite birds.Just an hours drive north to the East coast of Yorkshire and you will find the only Northern Gannet colony on the UK mainland, RSPB Bempton Cliffs.10,000+ of these magnificent birds soar around the cliffs giving amazing views of our largest seabird.

You can get lost in their world and relationships for hours, watching them rebond after one of them returns from being out at sea.

It has only been 6 weeks since my last visit to RSPB Bempton Cliffs but in that time they have established their territories, laid eggs and now have very large offspring depending on those successful fishing trips.

In just a few months they will leave our shores and migrate back down to Africa.Visiting RSPB Bempton Cliffs during the Summer months is a must to have one of the best wildlife experiences you can without getting on a boat.
